Travel towards city of Burgas and spend some time at Atanasovsko Lake. Home to a wide variety of bird species and some wondrous orchid species, your time spent here will not be wasted. Journey into the centre of the city, then why not wander round some of the museums and galleries in the area.
Drive around the other side of Burgas and you will find yourself in Sozopol. This historic coastal resort offers the best of both worlds, stunning beaches and a fantastic Old Town to explore. If you are looking to sample some local cuisine, you will have plenty of opportunities here.
Why not visit Strandzha Natural Park? It is a fair drive, but well worth the journey to escape the beach for a bit and experience the wonderful landscapes, diverse flora and fauna and the rivers and lakes.
The city of Varna is also along the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. It plays host to a large port, some Roman baths and a Dolphinarium too.
